Which actions consume free Pins?

Every successfully started Live Activity Pin consumes one free Pin — including Pin All (each newly pinned image counts separately) and photos imported from the picker. Refreshing an already pinned image, Unpin, Delete, and cropping never consume Pins. Pinning again after an Unpin consumes another Pin.

How do I restore my lifetime purchase?

Open Settings → Purchases & Quota → Restore Purchase while signed in with the same Apple Account used for the purchase. If the purchase was refunded, PinIsland returns to the free-Pin count.

Why isn't my free-Pin count the same on every device?

The free quota is stored in this device's Keychain and belongs to this device only: PinIsland has no account and no server, so the count never syncs across devices and never follows your Apple Account. Switching to another device or erasing this one starts with a fresh 68 Pins. On the same device, reinstalling the app usually keeps the Keychain count. The lifetime purchase, in contrast, is tied to your Apple Account and is restored by Apple.

Where are pinned screenshots stored?

Screenshots you select or create through Shortcuts, including Smart Crop processing, are handled locally. They remain in PinIsland on your iPhone until you delete them. If you choose Save to Photos, iOS adds a separate copy to your photo library; that copy follows your Photos and iCloud settings and is not deleted when you delete the PinIsland copy.

Is anything uploaded to the internet?

PinIsland does not automatically upload your screenshots or diagnostics and has no developer-operated server, analytics, or ad SDKs. Information leaves PinIsland only when you choose an external action, such as installing the Apple-hosted iCloud Shortcut, saving a copy to Photos/iCloud, sharing a diagnostics ZIP, or contacting support.

How do I stop an island from showing?

Open the pinned screenshot in the app and tap the delete button. The island also disappears automatically when its duration ends (15 minutes to 4 hours, configurable in Settings).

Why is the island preview hidden on the Lock Screen?

That is the privacy option at work. Go to Settings → Live Activity Display and choose “Show preview” to display it on the Lock Screen, or “Hide preview” to keep it private.

How do I install the Shortcut?

Go to Settings → Shortcuts and tap Install. The link opens an Apple-hosted iCloud Shortcut page in Apple’s Shortcuts app; Apple handles the download and installation. Follow the prompts to add it. You can remove the Shortcut at any time in the Shortcuts app.
